Winter Blues

I talked with a very good friend tonight on the phone. This person had all the right words and what I needed to hear. I am posting a couple of pictures tonight that show how I have been feeling lately. I am hoping soon, the clouds will part and the sun will shine!!!

Crazy Train

The boys are crazy about trains. It started with Jake and now Owen loves to pick up a train and "show" us what he has in his hands- that is what he is doing with Thomas in one of the pictures above. Jake doesn't like it too much when Owen messes with his track and takes the trains off... Soon, they will both be playing the trains together

View from our loft

Here is a view from our loft- there was a glimpse of a sunset- although, hard to tell from the picture. It is very cold out- I think the last I saw, it was 9 degrees.......... I dream of sun filled skies, and some warm temperatures, I think I will be waiting awhile until we see those.... in the meantime, I am trying to be patient

Splish Splash

Ah, bath time..... this only leads to bedtime, which then leads to quiet time for mommy and daddy..... some days, this is the time we look forward to..... Jake and Owen splish splashing in the bath, I get almost as wet as they do from the splashing!!

January

Ok, we are in for the long haul so to speak. It is cold out and we have been spending our days inside. It is always interesting to find things to do for the kids and keeping busy. I think Jake is getting stir crazy- but so am I. Here are some recent pictures........

Time

Each day, we all face a peculiar problem. We must validate our past, face our present, plan for the future.
Those whole believe that life was better in the "old days" sometimes are blind to the reality of the present; those who live only for the present frequently have little regard for either precedent or consequence; and those who live only for some deferred reward often strain themselves with too much denial. Thinking of past, present, and future is a useful conceptual technique, but ultimately they must be appropriately balanced and joined.
We must understand how the past affects us, we should keep the present full of rich and satisfying experiences, and we should devote some energy each day to building for the future. Just as a river can be said to have parts that cannot be clearly divided, so too should we consider the whole of our time when deciding how to spend our lives.
