Discovery of an introvert

I do a lot of blog reading in my spare time..... over the years I have bookmarked my favorites and many times, I surf from blog to blog. When I find one I enjoy reading, or there is some shared interests, I return to them.

I have come across a recent entry of a blog I follow, which of course, sent me to another blog and link. This was about being an introvert vs an extrovert. I have come to the conclusion, that I am most definately an introvert, as is also my "partner in crime". It is so obvious and explains a lot to me. I have heard of this term, but never, really would consider labeling this as myself. I came across a link of another blog- that had an interesting list of myths related to being an introvert...

http://owlcityblog.com/2011/06/27/10-myths-about-introverts/

I thought I would share, and there was also a book I may have to read called "The Introvert Advantage in an Extrovert World by Marti Olsen Laney....... Looks like I am going to try and reserve this from the library ; )

It is so funny when you read some type of writing on personality traits and you can totally agree or identify with them what is true in yourself. I have to say, as an introvert, I do need to recharge, be in my home, have my down time, or I feel not rested. I am not one of these people that can go from one activity to the next, or fill my weekends with this, that and the other. If I do not get that time- then something is missing, I feel not rested, rushed and get cranky- it is wild. That is why Sundays to me- are sacred!!! I do not have many friends, and the ones I do have I can count on one hand.

I enjoy when I learn something that I have know about myself for a long time, just never knew what it was called or aware of it's label. Self discovery, it is great!!

Cars 2

Well we made out to Cars 2 the movie- the boys had fun- but man what a rip off!!!!!! We haven't been to a movie since Toys Story 3.

First mistake is going to a non- matinee movie- $15 for 2 kids and $20 for 2 adults= $35 wow!
Second, we should have smuggled everything in except the popcorn..... ( i love move theater popcorn) We spend another $28!!!! Rip off! So, I know now one of my giant purses will come in handy the next time, I will be the smuggler and we will go to a matinee.......
Overall, though, the kids had fun and managed to stay awake for the whole movie!

Summer is here!!!

Summer is here by the thermometers..... 113 yesterday. Quite frankly, 105 and under, to me is really no different than hot and humid 85 back in the midwest and 90's here are easy. When it gets over 105.... then the OVEN is on!!!

We bought a slip and slide and have been going to the pool which is around the corner so we have our way to cool off....... Boys are still scared..... couldn't get the Saturday lessons, so that only left after work lessons- so it is what it is- but if we are going to have a pool..... then they need to know how to swim. They need to know how to swim anyway ; )

We have been enjoying berries now that they are in season and I even made Father's Day cupcakes....... for the boys ( big boys and little boys)

Bruisers

Wow the boys in this photo look like bruisers!!! I love it! They just got their haircut and had colored gel put in their hair. J picked out blue and O chose purple! O wanted a 'mohawk' so we opted for a "fau-hawk" instead!!!

We went to the pool - the kids are getting ready for their lessons- Ever since J fell in Aunt E's pool- I think he is a little scared- but today he actually kicked his legs while holding onto the wall- baby steps for him- We waited WAY too long for the lessons- so that is why, O will be having them too!

still unpacking and working on purging- didn't do a whole lot today- but I am getting a 2nd wind- so I am ready to tackle the garage!! Now- I need to get the craft space/office done- it is a mess!!!

The 'Before ' Picture

Here is a picture of part of the backyard- it is a "before" pic. I am excited to have a little backyard again. I have 4 planter boxes to fill, so I am thinking about what to put in them- then there is the trellis- not sure if I should just leave that alone...... I am thinking about outdoor lighting, umbrellas, another small table or chair for the covered patio and then some flowers, hibiscus, or a succulent mix???? Not sure- E suggested some herbs- so perhaps some oregano and basil- I have rosemary in the front yard........ We have a lime tree that has some small little limes on it..... I think I am too late for any type of vegetable garden...
